Immigration
Legal Counsel, LLC - Get an Edge with the H-1b
Employment Visa
The demand for H-1b visas in the United States is so
great that just last year the USCIS received more
applications than it had visas to offer by noon the
first day it accepted them! Proof of the steady
demand increase for H-1b visas is seen in the fact
that in 2006 the visa quota was not reached until 4
months after the day USCIS starting accepting
applications. In just two years, the demand has
sky-rocketed. This past year the USCIS was forced
to have to use a lottery system just to choose the
applications it would even process. Each year the US
government allots 66,000 H-1b visa. Last year, the
USCIS received over 66,000 applications by noon the
very first day it began to accept them It’s clear
U.S. companies are taking advantage of this system
to stay as competitive as possible. The need to use
this sort of lottery system has never occurred in
the history of Immigration in the US.

Enable Latina Corp. -
Meeting among Brazilian entrepreneurs and American
investors generate interesting potential deals
On February 13rd of 2008, a roundtable took place in
Orlando, FL to present already developed Brazilian
brands which are now expanding internationally to
potential American investors who may be interested
in developing and disseminating these brands in the
U.S.
Participating brands were: Bob’s, Flytour, Livraria
Nobel, Global Franchise, Showcolate and Wizard.
These generated an average of 3.2 meetings per
brand. This is a very promising average for
completely unknown brandings in the American market.
Present investors had the opportunity to speak with
the Brazilian CEOs and investigate the possibility
for business. As a result, Global Franchise, Wizard
and Showcolate took back to Brazil important
international relations.
Global Franchise has an ongoing contract with an
international company interested in taking the brand
to Australia. Wizard has a potential future in Costa
Rica and on the other hand, Showcolate has
established partnership with American investors to
establish appropriate locations for this popular
Brazilian chain.
According to Mr. Rogério Feijó, relations manager at
ABF (Brazilian Franchising Association), the event
was very positively rated by entrepreneurs who were
satisfied with the new contacts and predict future
long term deals.
The commercial Brazilian trip is a part of the
partnership between ABF (Brazilian Franchising
Association) and APEX-Brasil (Brazilian Agency for
Promotions, Export and Investments) which has as an
objective the internationalization of Brazilian
franchises. There are currently 52 Brazilian
franchises functioning internationally.
